So yesterday, I was on Plurk, and I saw someone linking to SocialVibe and decided to log back into my account.

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I’ve changed over the last year. Now, it isn’t about the points or the giveaways. It’s about helping to support a cause that I believe in. So I’ve been working hard to recruit others as well. The world needs our help.

What is SocialVibe? It’s a flash-based website/community that focuses on donating money to different organizations.

How does it work? When you sign up, you choose a cause. Then you choose one sponsor. (Two if you take the platinum survey) After that, you place the badge on your website, myspace, facebook, etc; and for each view that your page gets, you get points, and your sponsor donates money towards your cause.

I chose to support general education. I couldn’t pick one specific cause, so I support them all. What’s your cause?

So far, the people are friendly. I feel a little overdressed, but hey…I’m aiming to be different. I heard that these ladies could be quite nasty, but I’m not, in the least, concerned about that. I’m not there to make friends…I’m there to do my job.

On to other news…I want your thoughts and opinions on the following scenario:

There’s a 13 year old girl who lives with her father. This girl dates her best friend’s brother, and her father knows this. He takes his daughter over there to see him whenever she wants to go. When the idea of her [possibly] becoming pregnant was brought up, he replied: “If she got pregnant, I’d pay for an abortion.”

Personally, I think he needs to be slapped. Slapped hard. How could you not be concerned about the health and well-being of your 13 year old daughter? In order for her to get pregnant, it means that she would have to have unprotected sex. Do you not care about STDs and the such? Do you really not care about the emotional damage that comes from getting an abortion? Not to mention the possibility that she may never be able to have children… People need to get serious.

That is all.

I took my braids out, so now I’m rocking this natural ‘do. I’m not much into it right now, but maybe I’ll like it more in a few days.

We got the place and we move our stuff in on October 15th. We also decided to move the wedding up to November 8th, because we don’t want to live together before we get married. The majority of the preparations are done, so hey…why not?

I finished putting together the invitations today, and I’m trying to get them out before Wednesday, since it’s RSVP only.

I also changed the theme again! No pink this time. But yeah…it’s late and I want to be well rested for tomorrow, so good night!

We did get the place! It’s a little more than we expected (2 months rent and deposit) but it’s nothing that we can’t handle. A new townhouse…2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, and spacious enough for the both of us. Gotta love that. My dad is giving us a flat screen HDTV. I thinks its 48″. He’s also giving us a furniture set for the living room.

We’ve also decided that we’re going to scratch the big wedding and have a simple one….in December instead of February. Yes, I know!

Also, I start the new job on the 29th. I have to turn in my notice at Harris Teeter soon before it’s too late. I think a week’s notice is better than no notice at all.

I think that covers everything. The registry at Target is still being added to. Invitations need to be redone. Oh yeah, and I ordered my veil as well.

It’s like…I want the job, I really do, but I’m worried about the hours and the money. It’s $2.35 less than what I make now, and only 25 hours. I know that they say I can get more hours in a month or so, but that’s not a guarantee. So what do I do?

Take the job with less hours and pay, but closer to home (32 miles)? Or stay at the job that pays more, that I hate, that’s farther away (62 miles one way)?

So last Friday, my boss at Harris Teeter, pretty much suggested that I should have risked dying just so I could make it to work. What happened was, I was having problems with my rear bearings on my car. They were very loose and my wheels could have came off at any time. So I went to get my car fixed. When I told him that I wasn’t going to make it in, because of the problem, he went on to say:

Terin, you’re a BBT [management] trainee. It is your responsibility to get here no matter what.

So I asked him, “What? Do you want me to kill myself trying to come in to work?” Then he said whatever and HUNG UP ON ME. Wow! What kind of boss is that inconsiderate?

So since then, I’ve been working hard at finding another job. Yesterday, I got a call back from Bank of America for a teller position. Today I aced my phone interview and went on to complete an assessment on the computer.

I just finished it, so hopefully I did good. Pray for me…or wish me luck. Whatever you’re into.

I tried on my dress again today, and I have to slow down with the weight gain before it doesn’t fit. I can’t wait for this wedding to be over and done with.

Registration is also open for those times where I may have secrets or such. Until next time…

I’ve picked up my dress and my sister’s dress for the wedding. We’ve decided on colors (apple and white). I’ve designed the invitations. They just need to be printed. We are also finishing up the planning for our engagement party which is on Labor Day.

I also leave on September 14 for my management training in Charlotte, NC. I’ll be gone a week, but I’ll have my lovely little MacBook along for the ride.

Right now, I’m looking for a photographer, and I have to book the country club.

So much to do and so little time. Until the next entry…..
